Nick O’Connell

Nick O’Connell (He/They) is an Actor, Singer, and Music Director originally from Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, located near Madison. They began taking piano lessons in the second grade, and their love of music grew from there! They began their theatrical career with their Middle School’s musicals, which were formative in their love for the art. Nick played flute and bass all through middle school, eventually being asked to join as one of three flautists for the invite-only Wind Ensemble at MHHS. In high school and then community theatre, he quickly learned how to adapt his voice for various roles, and discovered many unique character voices. He music directed his first show with a local community theater his senior year of high school and received various merit scholarships to continue his training. Nick has spent time on and behind the stage at NCC, both acting and music directing, and interned with Children’s Theater of Madison in the summer of 2019. He has branched out to varying production and theatre companies, and has been seen as an actor and Assistant Music Director for Point 2 Productions and Schaumburg on Stage. He has undertaken many music direction projects, including serving as Le Ménage Theatre’s Resident Music Director, where they will put on Guys and Dolls this summer. When not performing, rehearsing, or score-studying, Nick can be found as a barista at Starbucks in Naperville, or hanging with his cat Sampson, a devious Russian Blue.
