Miranda Keating

Piano / Voice / Theater Instructor

Hailing from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Miranda Keating is incredibly excited and honored to join the YPAC team and family. Growing up in a home with an appreciation for theatre and song, she quickly fell in love with performing, oftentimes devising musical bits, dance routines, and productions for her family members around the house day and night. She began her career as an avid actress when she was just 8 years old, and she has now been involved with over 40 theatrical productions to date. Miranda recently graduated from North Central College in Naperville, IL with B.A.s in Musical Theatre and Theatre, minors in Dance and Music, and a concentration in Leadership. At North Central College, alongside theatrical productions, she was involved with a number of student organizations including the College Scholars program (Honors Mentor), the Cardinal Dance Company (Treasurer), the Company (Treasurer), One Note Stand A Cappella (Movement Director), and Tonacity, the all-women a cappella group that she co-founded and was President of. Throughout her high school career, Miranda was an intern at the Sun Prairie Civic Theatre (SPCT), and it was through this unique experience that she first learned how to be a leader behind the scenes of theatre and felt the joy of teaching young ones about the exhilaration and lessons theatre brings. Within this internship, she choreographed, developed costume and make-up designs, and assistant-directed children’s productions. Miranda has since acted as various leadership positions within North Central College productions, worked as a Theatre Specialist at Camp Pontiac, choreographed for Oswego East High School (Rodger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Freaky Friday), and taught theatre classes for American Eagle Productions and Dream Big Performing Arts Workshop. In the future, Miranda hopes to pursue her Master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Theatre Studies and continue being a performer as well as an arts educator in order to further share the benefits of an arts education.
