Megan’s musical journey began in fifth grade when she joined the percussion section in her school’s band program. She quickly fell in love with the arts and began also playing in the jazz band, both as a drummer and as a vibraphonist. In high school, Megan was drumline captain in the marching band and played in the pit orchestra for musicals. Also in high school, she began playing with the Crystal Lake Strikers Drumline and learned to play steel drums in Potts and Pans Steelband. Megan went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College Chicago, where she studied both percussion performance and music composition.
