Welcome to our new blog: Access to the Arts! We are excited to be putting a new spin on our blog, Access to the Arts! We chose the Access to the Arts name because that is YPAC’s mission -- Giving Every Child Access to the Arts. Through this blog, we hope to show why access to the arts is so important, different ways we can provide that, our own take on what access to the arts means, and more. We are so happy you’ve decided to check out this first installment! With our #mypacisypac focus, the team has been thinking a lot about what exactly sets YPAC apart from other performing arts centers. It’s no secret that there are a lot of choices in our areas--good ones at that! So why do so many families choose YPAC? And why does the YPAC team feel so strongly that YPAC is the best choice? Three things we’ve learned from Darren Hardy--a mentor we turn to for advice in many facets of life and business are that you need: Expert counsel, 2. A resource group, and 3. Systems and Strategies (tools & training). These ideas are easily applied [...]
Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily and Brian Weber. Emily and Brian, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today? In 2011, Brian and I both felt very strongly that God was commissioning us to move from Morris IL to Yorkville, Illinois. We were not exactly sure as to why this area, with the exception that Brian worked here. We looked at houses up here that year and the following year and always came back to ours thinking, “We just can’t leave the house we are in.” Well last year was different. We heard God remind us that it was just a house, yes a beautiful one but something material. We knew there were bigger and greater things for our life beyond a Victorian home. We made the decision to move. It was then that I made a commitment to really listen for God’s direction and exactly where He would like us to grow individually and as a family. Hello YPAC families! No need to cook this Wednesday April 26th! Come join the YPAC community at the Yorkville Culver's as we raise funds for the Enchanted Forest costumes and set. 10% of Flyer sales all day will go back to YPAC. We will have ballerinas and their families serving dinner in the dining room from 5:00-8:00. Do you have friends and family that are thinking about joining YPAC and registering for summer programs? Spread the word and tell them to come on into Culver's because Bridget will be there waiving registration fees to new families who register that night! Looking forward to seeing you all there!
Gone are the days of calling your student absences in!!! YPAC is happy to announce that you no longer have to call or email in your student absences...all you have to do is complete a brief Google Form! Click HERE to access the form or visit www.ypacarts.com and scroll to the bottom of the page! Simplifying processes is one of our main goals this school year and we are so glad to make reporting attendance a little easier on everyone!
BYO Mugs, Water Bottles, etc. In an effort to reduce waste, YPAC is asking that when you and your family come to the center, to please bring your own mugs and water bottles. We are happy to provide a water and coffee station for you to enjoy while you are at the center, but want to make sure we are not causing excessive waste by proving paper/foam cups. Any little bit will help our environment, so join us in implementing this positive change!!!

Picture Day This Friday, April 21st is picture day for all ID dances. Please be on time and ready to go. Everyone did a great job last year of changing fast and moving pictures along. We were able to end early because of this and hope to do that again this year. Parents are responsible for helping to change their kids and get them ready for each dance. Please know the line-up for the night. We will wear hair in a high bun in order to accommodate dancers that have to come straight from school and change their hair for hip-hop. Please make sure that tights are run-free, colored nail polish is removed and shoes are clean.

Hello Enchanted Forest families! We will be having a fundraiser at Culver's in Yorkville on Wednesday April 26, with the funds raised going to the costumes, props and set of the Enchanted Forest ballet. In order to gain exposure for the production and the center, and to make this a fun event, we are looking for dancers and parents to volunteer for 30 minute time slots from 5:00-8:00 at Culver's the night of the event. The dancer would come dressed in costume and the parent/s would wear a Culver's apron and help deliver the food with their dancer. Miss Bridget will be on site to sell tickets, answer questions, and register new families for summer programs. Please take a minute today and fill out this Google form so we can organize and communicate the final details for the 26th. https://goo.gl/forms/B4lcnt89Qr4LJ9Rg1

Hello YPAC families! If there is one thing that our YPAC community is known for, it is the way we rally around each other in times of need. We have a YPAC family that needs our support! YPAC student Ellie, age 10, was diagnosed with Juvenile Dermatomyositis, an auto immune disease that attacks the muscles and skin. Only 3 out of 1 million people are diagnosed each year. The family will be spending a lot of time at Lurie Children's hospital in Chicago and staying at the Ronald McDonald House from time to time while Ellie is fighting this disease. Ellie has only been able to go to school 2 days a week as they have home treatments twice a week and physical therapy 3 days a week. All of this is exhausting and scary for the entire family. You can help them by preparing a freezer meal that they could easily heat up on the nights when making dinner isn't a possibility. Can't cook? No problem! You can still help by buying a Gas Station gift card to help with all the extra travel expenses. Please follow the link to the "Meal Train" and sign [...]
