Q: Can we try a private lesson/class before we decide to register?
A: Yes! We offer a FREE 20-minute trial lesson for any student interested in registering for private lessons and a free class for any student interested in registering for group lessons. These are scheduled through the front desk.
Q: How does billing work?
A: All dance and music lessons are billed monthly. Dance and theatre classes are based on a 52 week calendar schedule. Music Lessons are based on a 47 week calendar schedule. All families are REQUIRED to be on our secure auto-pay system by debit/credit card or withdrawal from checking account. Families who opt to pay in full will receive a 5% discount.
Q: Is there a registration fee/membership fee?
A: Yes. Registration is an annual fee of $50.00 per student/$50 per family. It is designed to confirm a placement for each student in his/her class of choice. Registration fees also provide your family with the opportunity to take advantage of discounts at area business.
YPAC reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment. Registration fees are non-refundable with the exception of preschool students who are determined to be unready for dance and may receive a credit for the following season. Enroll early: Classes fill up fast, and class size is limited.
Q: Are there any performances?
A: Yes! YPAC produces 8 shows a year. Fall/Winter Musical, “My Favorite Things” holiday dance performance, Holiday Music Show, Spring Musical, Dance Community Year End Show, Music Community Year End Show, The Brave Project, and the Annual Spring Ballet Production.
Q: What type of lessons do you offer?
A: We are a full performing arts center and offer lessons in Music, Dance and Theatre. Our classes are available for children, adults and families. From newborn to adult classes, YPAC can provide your family with a comprehensive arts education experience.
Music classes include piano, guitar, voice, violin, percussion, ukulele, and bass guitar. Our Dance Community offers lessons in ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, tumbling, and acro/ flex. Our Dance Community also includes the YPAC performance groups: PEER Ensemble and I.D. Company. YPAC offers both group and private theater classes as well as two theater productions each year.
Q: How long is a session?
A: The Dance and Theatre Communities are 10 month seasons and The Music Community runs year-round.
Q: What happens if I need to withdraw from lessons?
A: YPAC has a 30-Day Notice Policy. We need a signed and completed YPAC Withdrawal Form 30 days prior to the next charge date. There is a two-month/session minimum for all lessons and classes.
Q: Do classes run year round?
A: Music Community classes run year round. Dance and Theatre classes run September to June. Students enrolled in the Dance and Theatre Communities also have the opportunity to participate in our Summer Sessions. Summer classes for Dance and Theatre run June to August.
